Message from Founder President

Asia Pacific Burn Association (APBA) represents the burn scenario of the Asia Pacific region. This is a good forum for Burn experts and all stakeholders in the management of Burns to exchange ideas, share experiences and discuss problems unique to our area. The Asia Pacific region includes many of the countries where "Burn is endemic " and enormous deformities are leading to severe morbidity. I hope that with the APBA as a binding factor, all professionals involved in Burn care in this region come forward not only to disseminate and advance the knowledge of burn management but also to lessen the sufferings in the low-income countries of Southeast Asia.

I would like to appreciate the efforts of Prof Vinita Puri and Dr Nyoman P. Riasa who worked hard to draft the initial bye-laws and get the Association registered. The membership to APBA has been complimentary so far, but during the 15th APBC in Goa, the Board has approved to levy a token fee to sustain our activities.

We now also have a new team of Secretaries, Dr. Hui Fu Huang and Dr Ivette Icaza who are engaged enthusiastically in managing our secretariat.
